Wings Etc. Wabash hosting fundraiser to help family of 3-year-old injured in a lawnmower accident

Wings Etc. Wabash will host a fundraiser on July 19 to help the family of Oliver Gunter, who was injured in a lawnmower accident on May 25.

WABASH, Ind. (June 30, 2023)—On July 19 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., 15% of dine-in and carry-out food and soft drink sales at Wings Etc. Wabash will be donated to the family of 3-year-old Oliver Gunter. Gunter was severely injured in a lawnmower accident on May 25 and has undergone extensive medical treatment. Wings Etc. Wabash general manager Tina Floor explained that hearing the story pulled her to want to help.

“This community means a lot to me, and stuff like this pulls at my heartstrings,” said Floor. “Wings Etc. Wabash owners Bryan and April Burcroff are always on board to help as much as possible. This has been so heavy on my heart since I heard it, and we just really wanted to help.”

Gunter has been in the hospital recovering from his injuries and has undergone multiple surgeries to repair his intestines and amputate one of his legs. He is expected to have a long road to recovery. Family members have been by Gunter’s side since the accident. Floor noted that money raised will go toward helping ease the financial burden as Gunter heals.

“This story is absolutely heart-breaking, and we want to help as much as possible,” said Floor. “Businesses around the area are really coming together to help this family out, and we all hope to give as much as possible.”

To help raise money for Oliver Gunter and his family, guests can dine at Wings Etc. Wabash from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. No flyer is required for the fundraiser, and 15% of all dine-in and carry-out food and soft drink sales from the day will directly benefit the Gunter family.

Wings Etc. Wabash is located at 1439 Cass St., Wabash, Indiana.
